use ‘My Number Card’ as a health insurance card
From 20 October 2021, the ‘My Number’ card will be accepted instead of a health insurance card at accepting medical institutions and pharmacies.
Although both the my number card and the health insurance card can now be used at medical facilities, new health insurance cards will no longer be issued from 2 December 2024.
- Health insurance cards valid from 1 December 2024 can be used for up to one year (until 1 December 2025).
- If you do not have a My Number card, you will be issued with a Certificate of Eligibility without having to apply for one. This certificate will allow you to continue to receive medical treatment as before.
